KUIU, the high performance clothing and gear company, is well known as an industry disrupter, changing the way hunters outfit themselves for the most extreme hunts on the planet. They also never rest, proven by the recent launch of their newest camouflage, Valo, a lighter, low-contrast pattern designed to complement their two existing camo patterns, Vias and Verde.
KUIU spent more than three years developing the new Valo pattern, extensively field testing each new version in a wide range of environments. After countless hours of research and field testing, they created a unique blend of a macro patterns with scaled detailing that effectively breaks up the human form at both close and long ranges. That means no dark blob effect that many lesser camo patterns turn into when viewed at a distance.
At home in a variety of environments hunters find themselves in, Valo introduces a variety of colors to the KUIU stable, including browns, grays, tans and other subtle earth tones that blend perfectly in lighter colored terrain. Over the course of a season, hunters often encounter rolling grasslands, sage-covered deserts or wide-open tundra – Valo disappears in all of them.
“Valo’s colors are exactly what I would’ve hoped for," said Jake Franklin, Outfitter at Kika Worldwide. "Each of the colors on their own as a solid would be pretty darn good natural camouflage. Putting all of them together in one pattern makes it perfect.”
The new pattern is the ideal complement to Via and Verde, providing late-season deer hunters a better way to blend in while hunting from treestand or on spot-and-stalk hunts in the winter woods. The browns and grays effectively match with dead and dry foliage, bare trees, downed timber and even snowy landscapes. Valo is also surprisingly effective in the duck marsh, giving the all-season hunter a single camouflage solution.
Valo is available in a full line of KUIU’s advanced, lightweight clothing, packs and gear for the serous hunter. Learn more by visiting the dedicated KUIU webpage.
